These taxis are also metered but are more expensive than the auto-rickshaws. Buses are operated in Bangalore by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation are also an important means of transportation in the city. The commuters have to buy tickets while boarding on these buses. The BMTC also offers a bus pass to frequent users of these buses which are very useful and helpful. The BMTC also runs the air-conditioned Volvo buses on major routes and these are red in color.

Air transportation in Bangalore:
The air transportation in Bangalore is the best and the easiest means of transportation if you are traveling from different parts of India or world. The HAL Airport of Bangalore is India's fourth busiest airport. This is both domestic as well as an international airport which is connected to various destinations throughout the world such as Asia, the Middle East and Europe. There are many domestic carriers which operates through this airport which includes SpiceJet, Kingfisher Airlines, Jet Airways and Go Air. In order to avoid congestion, a new airport will be constructed in Devanahalli which is in the outskirts of Bangalore. Air Deccan and Kingfisher Airlines are the two airlines which have their headquarters in Bangalore.
